Alexis - James Gang
Here's another lost soft rock track unearthed by Psychemagik on their excellent Sunrise mix for Test Pressing in November last year. James Gang are best known for the 1960s classics Funk #48 and Funk #49 - and for once having Joe Walsh of the Eagles in their line-up. "Alexis" was a track on their widely forgotten 1973 album Bang and features the cult guitar hero Tommy Bolin, who co-wrote the song. Bolin went on to join the ill-fated Mark 1V line-up of Deep Purple which released one record, Come Taste The Band, before breaking up in 1975. Bolin died of a drug overdose a year later.
