From Me To You (The Starkiller Remix) - Janis Ian

Janis Ian is best known for 'At Seventeen'', her wry and melancholic take on the indignities of adolescence which was the main single from her Billboard number one 1975 album Between The Lines. Our favourite Janis Ian moment though is 'From Me To You', another track from that album, which also has a dark lyrical theme: leaving behind the people who "only want to see you weak enough to crawl." Hardly the recipe for a cheeky, euphoric dance track you might think but there's something inspirational about Ian's music too and maybe that's why it fits well with the sound of Holland's The Starkiller, which is reminiscent of the classic uplifting Hooj Choons releases of the 1990s. The Starkiller has been quiet over the last few months so it's great to see him back in action with this clever and unexpected remix.
