Midnight Prowl - Angelo

It's hard to find any information about Angelo except that in 1978 he was able to attract the top names in the Southern Californian music scene to play on his album Midnight Prowl (such as uber-producer  David Foster on keyboards, Mike Porcaro of Toto on bass, Lee Ritenour on guitar, and Peter Cetera and Bill Champlin of Chicago on backing vocals) before returning to obscurity. This title track is a pepped up, bass-slapping cover version of a slow Westcoast funk track by the Eagles associate and famed Laurel Canyon womaniser J.D. Souther. The original version can be found on his classic 1976 album Black Rose.
