Clearly Kim (The Beat Broker Dub) - Pages

Originally recruited as Andy Gibb's backing group for his 1977 hit 'I Just Want To Be Your Everything' and the subsequent tour, Pages went on to become a revered Westcoast act.  Their blend of AOR and jazz-fusion gave them a cult following but it was a hard sell to American mainstream radio in the late 1970s, despite the success of Steely Dan. Singer Richard Page and Steve George would however go on to chart glory in the mid-1980s with Mr Mister, and would also rival the members of Toto for their prolific session work in the golden age of Los Angeles' smooth music scene.

'Clearly Kim' originally appeared on Pages debut album in 1978. It's often described as 'light funk' but this doesn't do justice to the sophistication and depth of Pages' sound. And San Francisco's The Beat Broker has just added his own twist with this excellent  spaced-out, chugging instrumental edit.
