Don't Call It Love (12" Version) by Zero 7 featuring Tom Leonard

When Neil Barrie, our man in LA, sent us the B-side of Zero 7's latest single On My Own we were expecting a glossy rehash of Simple Things, their stylish but wildly over-played 2001 album which went on to sell a million copies. So it was a surprise to find that  Zero 7 have drawn from the rich pool of 1970s soft rock instead  - notably Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac - and have discovered a great new singer-songwriter, the LA-based Tom Leonard.  Along with the Daft Punk album (etc) "Don't Call It Love" is yet another example of  AOR music hitting the comeback trail, and this has to be one of the best tunes of the year so far.
