AOR Disco - Rock Edits by DJ Same
"So after reading the excellent Mixmag article on AOR Disco this month I started listening back through my old rock edit folders," says Sam Edlin aka DJ Same. "And I remembered how much I loved the genre. It was thanks to the Psychemagik re-edit of Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere" that I'd got back into collecting and DJing new music again a couple of years ago. I first heard it on Rob Da Bank's show on Radio1 after a difficult night shift and at about 0630 when driving home...and I nearly lost it.
Thankfully I managed to keep my composure, got home , did an internet search and found AOR Disco. The soft rock edits, many with a balearic twist, were just what I'd been waiting for. I went on to compile AOR Disco Volumes 1 -10 and the series has recently taken a soul/funk direction. So it's good to get back to the true essence of the site and do a rock(ish) mix."
