Swamp Country Funk by James Clarkson
"To be honest I think this mix should stop after Free Bird," say James Clarkson. "I just got carried away and could have kept going for another hour or two! This is the result of my latest vinyl digging exploits. For me vinyl is the purist form of recorded music and undoubtedly the softest, most natural way to hear what the artist had in mind when it was first cut. It's great to see it coming back into fashion. I grew up with my Dad's Eagles/Cream/Neil Young/Zeppelin etc records and then it was all deep house and techno back in the 90s. I still like a good up to date deep set now, but as I've got older my ears have opened up to Soul/Funk/Blues/Jazz/Americana. I wished I'd searched the infinite musical library of life a lot harder when I was younger, but I suppose that's part of the thrill now. Finding those lost gems and masterpieces that deserve the right to be heard. Anyway, hope you enjoy this mix. Best served with a smoke under the blossom down south..."
